The Colors of Life

County Road W near Pewitt's Nest

The Colors of Life can mean several things I feel. Especially since I am color blind! The colors of my life have always been beautiful in my eyes! Yet, the past year, those colors have changed. Believe it or not, they have become even more beautiful! I didn't even think it could be possible, but it truly is! Connie got me color correcting glasses last year for Christmas, and nothing has been the same since. I knew it would change and get better, but I had no idea to what degree. Until this Fall Season! When she gave me the glasses last December, she said "I can't wait for you to see the Fall colors next year". I was thinking, I can't wait to see my first rainbow, or a red bird, or any color with the glasses. We were both correct in our ways of thinking, but I have to say she was more correct! I seriously had no idea how beautiful the Fall colors are or could be! It is one of the most incredible things I have ever witnessed. It is like seeing color for the first time! I am like a kid in a candy/color shop. Everything I see with color in it is exciting, and it fascinates me. I don't want the season to ever end! I know it will. Winter will come and the colors will change again. And I will look forward to next Fall with great wonder.

As the Fall colors fade this year, I will be sad. Luckily for me, life is full of many colors all year round and my sadness should be short lived. I did see my first rainbow with my glasses this summer. And true to form, as my life has been blessed beyond belief, it happened in spectacular fashion. It was the week Suse came to visit us this past summer. She always brings beauty to my life. Not only that... we had several friends and family there to see it and enjoy it with me. Not only that... it was a complete ground to ground rainbow. Not only that...  the rainbow lasted for AN HOUR! That is not an exaggeration either. And I got to enjoy it all from the front porch of our beautiful home in the country, with several of my most favorite people in the world! How lucky am I? Too lucky to be honest.

(I know the photo doesn't do it justice)

Along with the rainbow, the red of the garden fence really pops out with my glasses on.

I also love birds. I am excited to see birds in great color, although that is a little more challenging with the size and movement of them. Luckily for me, The International Crane Foundation is just 4 miles from our home. The cranes have some beautiful colors. They are big and slow moving, so it is easy for me to see them too!

I can even see the little bit of red on her head.

Another aspect of my life where I have a lot of color, and now I see even more of it is in my clowning world. I always found it funny to be a color-blind clown, when clowns are supposed to be colorful! They are also supposed to be funny, so I guess that makes sense then. Ha. Well, now that I see even more colors, it does make me wonder if that might diminish my clown persona just a little? Like, will I tone down my colors because I can see more of them? Nah! That could never happen. ;0).

That is some great colors for a clown.

And my friends will always be colorful to me. Even more so now!
Oh, how I miss Maria and all of my Russian friends. I can't wait to see them all again in FULL COLOR!!!

As I move forward in life, I am going to try to use my glasses as a teaching/philosophical aid. What I mean is... No matter how great you think life is, it can always be better or more colorful. Also, on the flip side, no matter how bad life may seem at any moment, it can always get better and be more colorful. I am grateful every day for ALL of the COLORS in my life!!! And no matter what color my friends are, they will always be the most beautiful colors I will see!

The beauty of the Wisconsin Farmland has been taken to a whole new level!

I love the random red leaf, more than ever now!

I LOVE the woman behind it all the most! With her in the photo, I barely see the red leaves behind her.

Now Go Out and Hug a Colorful Person Today!!!

Thanks Maria! I surely will. I only wish it would last longer than two weeks or so.

Amen Erin! I think she is struggling, but doing OK overall. It is such a hard situation to be in, I can't even imagine! I hope all is well in your world.

While looking at the rainbow or the fall colors, Rodney says, "Seriously, how does anyone get anything done when there's this to see. "

Don’t get much of the fall color change in Savannah, GA. Thank you for sharing your personal experience and pictures. It’s just starting to cool off a bit.

You are welcome Robyn. Sorry you don't get the great fall colors there, but I imagine you have other great colors? You can always travel up here and stay at our B&B :0). Big hugs to Georgia!
