A Magical Time Wand

My dear friend Ilya Segalovich died today. I only knew him as a kind, loving, happy, vibrant clown. That is how I will remember him too. He gave anything and everything he could to the children of the world, especially the orphans of Russia, along with his incredible wife Maria! My heart bleeds for his family more than any other family I know.

A friend of mine sent me this quote from Ilya. Ilya was fairly famous, especially in Russia and the internet world, but I really didn't know that Ilya. He is always the loving clown to me. Here is his quote in one of his many interviews. The question to him was "If you could give birth to one invention, what would it be?" He is referring to the Harry Potter series in his response.

“I translated all seven volumes of the story and read it aloud to my children. I would like some kind of miracle, a magic time wand, and for all orphans to be taken into families. For this invention I would pay any amount of money,”

To me, that is the pure essence of Ilya Segalovich! The funny thing is, to a lot of kids and people like me he WAS a Magical Time Wand! R.I.P. my dear friend!

Thank a Kid

I must say, if a kid is kind enough to offer you their hand, hugs, playfulness... Thank them for it! I had a blessed day yesterday with my cousin Earl and his wife Mary at Lagoon Park. It is an amusement park near Salt Lake. Mary's nieces were there and they are soooooo cute! The 6 year old twins ended up "sharing" me on the day, with a few moments with their 3 other sisters as well. Amusement parks are fun, but they are enchanting with young kids.

The twins and I spent most of the day going from ride to ride, hand in hand. They welcomed me into their fun and I gladly accepted! The other girls warmed up to me at the end of the day, and a lovely time was had  by all, I hope. I hope I thanked them enough and that they know how much I appreciated them sharing with me!

   

 

Kids are like beautiful flowers, don't you think.
