Dr. Robert Yim AKA "Oldie"

I always talk about my friend Suse and have done some posts on her. Today I feel like giving a shout out to her father. He is perhaps the most humble and kind gentleman I have ever met. There is a reason Suse is a wonderful human being, and it starts with her parents. I highlight Oldie today because I stumbled upon the fact that today is his birthday! He will be a young and spry 90 something year old. Just look at the smile!

His favorite story of Suse involves his birthday, but he never told me when his birthday was. I stumbled upon an article about him yesterday, coincidentally, and it mentions his birthday is Sept. 4th. Timing is everything. You can read that article below. It is worth the read.

Dr. Yim was a pediatrician in the Baltimore area for many years. He didn't retire until he was 75. His patients and their parents loved him, at least that is what I am told and have read. Dr. Yim loved them back, almost as much as he loves his own family. He wrote a book a few years ago. Not a ground breaking piece of literature, but a moving memoir of stories of his life and mostly his family. It is called "Sleeping with Mae West, and other stories". You can find it online on Amazon or on Barnes and Nobles. I recommend it for a light bedtime story read.
